I'd be interested in checking this out, with the new decal technique, in engine.

See if there's anything easy/obvious we can do to make any rendering artifacts go away

It looks like that functionality was lost a LOOONG time ago, like 2014.

Looks like there's a single background that it uses for everything now.

It's still for sale, but no longer in early access.

It won't fix the sector view, the problems are unrelated at least as far as the code involved is concerned. They might both be due to uninitialised data in some way.

It works with VS2015 and VS2017.

Yay for the grandiose bridge windows :D

It looks amazing on SketchFab too.

I was going to comment before but unfortunately I spent the entire day attempting to get shadow mapping working... and failing, still :/

Anyway, it looks great... ship it!

Just so you know, the only thing keeping us from merging the PR of this are the problems pointed out by nozmajner about the artifacts caused by using the DDS files from the original.

I'm not sure if you want to discuss changes with noz, or idea etc but that's all we're holding off on :)
