Re: Rethinking the UI

I figured I'd give Pioneer a go Welcome! I have some experience designing UIs, and I thought I could give you some ideas. I can't code at all, so I can't help you there. We're aware that Pioneer's UI needs a lot of improvement, and we already have a lot of ideas (of the sort you've listed) for how ...

Manchester (also Austin, TX, and Santa Monica, CA).

Edit: Looks like the Manchester jobs are for 'Squadron 42', not Star Citizen.

Is it intentional or a typo?
Intentional, I believe. It's the noun form of 'produce', not the verb form.

Re: A better "Wheel up" icon?

I've looked at WorldView.cpp and it's beyond me (which doesn't say much, since most C++ in pioneer is). I don't know if adding a 4-state icon as in my last post is something worth the effort, or if that effort should be invested in now, or when the WroldView is in GUI/Lua? For what little it's wort...

Re: Visual Studio - popular, but a painful

I think we have to decide on a case-by-case basis, but I don't have any problem with #2711. It does mean people will have to be careful to use the non-standard functions when writing new code, but I can accept that.

Re: Removing OS X build

The __sincos_sret thing is because something has been built for OS X 10.9 and is then being run on OS X 10.8.5 (the submitters of both #2702 and #2610 report using this version). OS X 10.9 includes __sincos_sret in /usr/lib/system/libsystem_m.dylib, OS X 10.8.5 does not, hence the failure. The solut...

Re: Project management changes

So maybe the guideline should be: Start a discussion here. Create a one-liner github issue assigned to you with a link to the discussion here, so that it's visible on github, but the discussion happens here. State that #1 can be left out if the topic was already discussed or is a simple bugfix/feat...

Re: Project management changes

One suggestion for a little bit of automatic coordination: If someone intends to work on an issue (e.g. fix a reported bug) he should assign the issue to himself so everyone can see that someone (and who) is taking care of it. Of course, people without push permission can also work on an issue. In ...

This will always be a problem I think; there is no easy solution. The best we can do is to accept that sometimes there will be disagreements, and trust each other to do things for the good of the project as a whole.
