Not quite a "space game", but a Star Craft inspired game for C64(!), by the 8 Bit Guy:

I could feel awesomeness of retro games after watching this video. My first machine was Amiga 1200 if I remember correctly, I had around 6 years back then (1996).

This game looks really fun. ;d

Impressive progress, I must say. It's mostly on graphics, and tiles.

@nozmajner, if anything, I recommend the last 2 minutes, starting from 17:33, on the pixel artist that he's hired.
